  • can anyone tell me the admission price,s for the match against chelsea on 28 july

  • can someone please tell me if the proposed game between Rangers & Liverpool is taking place?

  • ask jonesy he is the the geek when it comes to dates :)

  • The Rangers v Liverpool friendly is at Ibrox on Saturday 2nd August at 3pm.

    There you go!!

  • Rangers are being strongly linked with 20 year old Slavia Prague defender Marek Suchy. He would cost around 2.5M and I remember watching him as the Czech Republic got to the final in the under 20’s world cup and he looked very solid. Good in the tackle, strong in the air and his distribution is good.

I would welcome a move for him as it would bring more youth to the team and he could learn from Weir and Dailly.

This would however signal the end in Rangers pursuit of Mark Reynolds from Motherwell

  • this guy looks good saw him play in champions league

  • Also as you are probably aware Rangers have secured Allan McGregor on a 5 year deal. Reportedly on 20K a week. I am glad he has signed as he is vital to our progress both in the SPL and in Europe

  • i would not of been suprised if mcgregor went for more momey un the preimership but im happy he is loyal *cough* hutton

  • Hutton was loyal he was pushed out ,and would have made more sense to me to sell mcgregor than hutton, and another thing the quicker boyd and barry its not my fault my pass goes astray ferguson leave the club the better rangers will be.these 2 are the problem.

  • Rangers wouldny be the same wae out Ferguson or Boyd.
Who’s goiny fill in for Ferguson if he left ?

  • Rangers wouldny be the same wae out they 2 players.

  • Ferguson has been carrying an injury for half a season, he should have been rested but i do agree, he blames others sometimes for his mistakes.
I would have bitten the hand off Cardiff when they put in a bid for Boyd, He’s too slow, too lazy & thinks he should always be in the team.

  • EXCLUSIVE!!!!

Barry Ferguson will miss the first 2 months of the season after it was discovered that he has ankle problems and needs surgery

  • Barry will have Surgery next week and is expected to miss the CL qualifiers and if rangers qualify, the 1st 2 group games.

He will also miss Scotland’s 1st 3 World Cup Qualifiers. These are the away trips to Macedonia and Iceland and the home game with Norway. At least he doesn’t miss any games against Holland eh?

Other news today is that Rangers are closing in on the signing of defender Danny Shittu from Watford for 1.5M. This deal should be completed over the weekend.

Finally, after learning of the news about Ferguson, Walter has stepped up his efforts to sign Steven Davis from Fulham and it is believed they are close to the 3.5M that Fulham want.

  • yeah we shoyld beat off blackburn to sign davis as he played well for us while he was on loan, and danny shittu dosent seem that bd when i went to england to vist relatives i went to watford vs liverpool even thought liverpool killed them he would have easily got m.o.m if watford won i have been watching him ever since any other signings walter has in mind?

  • also from a few reliable sources is that Gennaro Gattuso mabe coming back to Scotland, as been told his wife is pregnant and she wants the kid to be born and brought up in scotland as walter has asked sir murray to give a him some cash to sign rino as ibrox would be his prefered choice. he was probally high or something but my friend from scotland works down the road from ibrox and saw stan petrov come out side the doors. this probally wong but it would be nice to sign them two plus davis and shittu also bring in Klasnic and if we get a good enough offer Gow aswell and let go of cousins and darcheville still think boyd has alot to offer with his record.

  • This danny shittu fiasco has left me feeling depressed and bewildered cause me and my mates felt he was perfect and now fear rangers are leaving the door open for celtic to sign him now.So much for our blue chip signings,if murray doesnt deliver the cash and start getting ambitious again then im afraid its time for him to go,i hope he proves me wrong.

  • Back been hearing all kinds of rumours tonight ,pearson, petrov.gattuso ,scott brown, stijn schaars, come on murray splash the cash.

  • Rangers have today been linked with a move for Cardiff City central defender Glenn Loovens. He is 24 yrs old and is Dutch. I watched him during their FA Cup run last season and he is a good solid central defender but is classier than Shittu and doesn’t just pump it up the park whenever he gets it.

1.5M is being discussed in the papers. I would definitely welcome this move

  • any midfielders being linked?

  • Not as yet. Davis’s name is still floating about but I am not sure if we will get him. Fulham are not budging from their 4M price tag.

Walter was quoted in todays metro newspaper as saying that he “was looking to strengthen the midfield immediately” so thats good news.

Ally McCoist also said they are looking at a number of targets both in midfield and central defense.

  • good i keep hearing the gennaro gattuso rumor in australia not sure if its right but it would be exciting to get him and hopefully sign a really really good defender

  • There is no chance of rangers signing Gattuso. He would cost at least 8M and we don’t have that cash. And we will only sign a defender of the quality of a English championship player. We simply just do not have the money.

Also the injuries are mounting big style for rangers

    Beasley – 3 weeks
Stevie Smith – 4-6 weeks ankle damage
Kyle Lafferty – 10 days back injury
Barry Ferguson – 3-4 months ankle surgery
Stevie Smith – 6 months knee surgery
Chris Burke – 5 months ankle surgery
Carlos Cuellar – few days, will miss Schalke game but be ok for the 1st leg in the CL qualifiers

It is not looking good just now, we are really struggling

  • that should be Stevie Naismith – 6 months knee surgery

  • So much for extending the playing careers of players, they’re getting injured before a ball is kicked.

  • why does it seem everytime smith plays a game he gets injured?

  • He didn’t get injured in a game. He took a kick on the ankle in training. It could happen to anyone. The lad is just really unlucky just now. He will be back at the start of september though.

  • in august i get to go to my first ibrox game :)

  • congratulations. I hope they get a result for you although the football we are playing just now, don’t get your hopes up too high callum.

Watching them against Schalke was like pulling teeth. They were terrible!

We need a couple of signings in before the CL qualifier deadline on Thursday. It will give everyone a lift and hopefully carry us past Kaunas.

  • havent got my hopes up to high, we do need a few more players as i have heard the schalke gae was crap!!

  • Rangers look like getting Portsmouth’s Pedro Mendes before tonights deadline. They are letting him go for 2.5M. The only problem may be his 32K a week wages.

They are also looking to get Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson in on loan

I am excited about both these signings as both are excellent players.

Looks like a bid for Loovens will not be made until next week so he won’t play against Kaunas if he joins but our defense is ok at the moment

  • Well its transfer D-Day today and there is just over 4 hours left of it. Please Walter, bring in a couple of midfielders.

    Or Davis at least!!!

  • Well I am disappointed, looks like they failed to bring in anyone. Whats going on Walter!!!!!!

  • No signings!!!! Looks like we need to beat Kaunas without any new players

  • ******* EXCLUSIVE! ***************

Rangers have signed Charlton Athletic defender Madjid Bougherra for 2.5M!

This is a great buy as he is a solid defender and can play the ball out of defense. He can also play defensive midfield as well

  • WALTER SMITH MUST GO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

He is completely incapable of playing attacking football and this is the worst squad I can remember in my 25 years as a supporter. It’s amazing how bad we got when Ferguson got injured.

We need Cuellar and Bougherra in defence quickly and get rid of Broadfoot and Weir.

We need 2 good creative midfielders although we will not get them because we are out of Europe now.

This is the team that will be trusted to win the SPL. NO CHANCE!!!!!

  • Did i not say that last season ????????????????????

  • Hello again all. Wish i had something good to say about the mighty Gers, but how we have fallen..

I have never (even during the bad ole days in the 80s) felt so disillusioned by Rangers management and the team as a whole. In fact, its depressing and could get a lot worse.

May i make a few comments about last night…

I thought they were a disgrace and was absolutely flabbergasted to see them again playing with one striker (and i term Miller a ’striker’ in the loosest form of the word as in my mind he is useless and isnt a striker as he doesnt score goals.. I can run about like a headless chicken. Work rate doesn’t win games…). To progress we had to at least score.. Which we did through a defensive midfielder…(cos the striker was AWOL)!!! In addition, Dailly shouldn’t be anywhere near that team and he should never play for the club again (I think I voiced that last season as well)… He cant pass, defend or run with the ball and he was at fault on numerous occasions last night and last season.

So, we have a defensive team, a defensive formation, strikers who cant score, a goalkeeper just back from a serious injury and a top goalscorer who cant get a game…. Then the ‘manager’, in need of a goal, brings on an un-tried striker and in the death throwes, brings on Boyd in the vain hope that he will again save the day… Farce, and tells me the manager has NO idea how to motivate a team to ATTACK..

    Its beyond my comprehension.

In my opinion, the manager has wasted a large chunk of the transfer budget, when we desperately need a creative midfielder and a left and right back. I cant understand his buys, formation, substitutions and tactics…… Surely we should have been at least trying to win the game instead of waiting to see what they do and then reacting to it….. Although they could have won by 4 going by the chances they had….

Smith needs to take stock and see the trees in that the strikers being played aint good enough, the team is too defensive and our passing and movement is atrocious.

I would also like to know what McCoist is doing to the betterment of the team and what kind of say does he have in striker selection…?

I dont know why we are surprised at Smith’s tactics as he was defensive the first time round as manager and used to play 5-3-2 in the top division…

    Pathetic…………..

  • Totally agree Johnny!

Apparently at Murray park tomorrow, David Murray, Martin Bain and Walter Smith are holding a Q&A session with supporters to air their views and clear the air. I think the supporters should be telling Murray to get his cheque book out or get his coat and leave ibrox for good!!!!

I would get rid of Cousin, Gow, Darcheville, Adam, Dailly, Webster and McCulloch and bring in 2 attacking midfielders.

We need to be more attacking. If we can change then hopefully we can turn it around. I think Walter deserves the chance to try and turn it around but if we are struggling by the end of August he should leave as Murray will never sack him

  • Dunno about Mr Murray getting out his cheque book again as he has done a good job of financing Smith thus far. Its Smith’s buys that have been, on the most part, poor… ie Dailly, McCulloch, Miller, Cousin etc etc…

If Murray said that players must be shipped out (though i dont believe its the way the media is putting it) then i agree with him as he cant keep throwing money at a manager who seems to be wasting it on his old stalwarts. They did well last season but played above themselves and now Smith seems to be unable to take the team forward. So in my mind, if the manager cant progress the team with (expensive) additions, then whats the point in wasting the money the club cannot afford? I wouldnt like to see us further in debt to enable Smith to fill the team with more defensive-minded players and then have a new manager have to punt them at a later date…

One question that has been bothering me (apart from boring you all with the Boyd situation whom id still have as the first name in my teamsheet..goals win games and games means prizes !! He won us 2 cups last season),….. why why why was Dailly in there ahead of Hemdani when Smith himself said Hemdani is a Euro specialist???

……and if Weir has to be protected like that, then why is he in the team at all… ? Ok he has done well, but Papac could do the job and be relied upon instead of wasting midfield bodies to protect the defence…

Lately Smith seems to spout his thoughts on players and formations then backtrack on his own musings.. For example he said that last season we were playing 1 up front because of the players he had at his disposal. Since then we have bought some attacking players (i wont call them strikers for fear of ridicule !!) and then we go to play Kaunas with the same formation !!! So going by his logic it follows that the players Smith has bought are also unable to play in a 442 or a 433..!! Unbelievable… and therefore a waste of money unless its defensive for this season as well?!?? !!

Its hard to say, but i dont believe anything Smith says and am having doubts about his ability to take the team to the next level.. Levein, Hughes and McGhee seem to be able to play attractive attacking football on little or no budget and we spent millions to watch that…. Something just isnt right..

Maybe Tuesday was just a blip…. maybe not..

Anyway, i hope the team does well tomorrow as its a must win..

    MON THE GERS

  • I cannot believe that Cuellar has gone. Because we did not get into Europe he has decided to leave for the Premiership. Can’t blame him, he is better than a SPL player and should be playing in the Premiership.

He also wants to play for Spain and that won’t happen if he stays in Scotland. So good luck to him and thanks for an excellent season.

Hopefully Walter will now buy some players. I think he will now bring in Davis and Loovens. But I am hoping he still brings in 1 creative midfielder as Davis is not really an attacking midfielder

  • Was at the Hearts game, and saw a huge improvement from last week.
Mendes is probably the best player ive seen at Ibrox in a long time and I can see him winning player of the year this year.
All the play came through him and unlike the rest of the squad, he didnt run out of ideas.
    Absolutely brilliant.

  • I was in Ayia Napa and watched the Aberdeen game was disappointed with the performance. As we done last season, after taking the lead we failed to press forward to get the 2nd.

Mendes did not look as impressive as his game against Hearts, but he needs time. Davis on the other hand looked good.

Roll on Sunday for the old firm game. I would take a draw at this stage of the season but obviously I want us to stuff them!!!

  • hey i’m back from Scotland, sorry i haven’t talked in awhile but is just me or do you think pedro mendes is the best buy we have got in two years?

  • i have an exclusive about the club but it’s confidential as i have became friendly with a rangers board member

  • come on now Callum you cannot post that information and then now divulge it lol!!

Do tell, we are all friends here.

  • true but if i told he would ring my neck you will find out soon I’m sure of it. i can tell you one thing… its about the ownership of the club…. kinda gives it away a bit :)

  • Old news Callum, lol

  • how long does this take ?????????????????????????

  • well you know that ownership thing i was talking about earlier, i think it is safe to tell you (not sure if any movement but) the guy from toronto blue jays is in talks with murray (not sure anymore)
