Calum Reidford Departing At The End Of The Season

Rangers goalkeeper Calum Reidford is set to leave Ibrox at the end of the season, with a possible move to Oldham on the cards.

20 year old Reidford is fourth choice behind McGregor, Alexander and Graeme Smith and he has decided he needs regular first-team football.

“I’ve been here a long time, but I’m no closer to getting in the first-team.

“It’s hard, but when you look at the guys in front of me, you can understand why it’s not happening for me.”

Defender Kaspars Gorkss A Possible Summer Signing

The Latvia centre-half Kaspars Gorkss could be a possible summer signing for Rangers. The defender is currently at Blackpool but he is set to use a £250,000 release clause in his contract.

Several lower league English teams such as Preston, Crystal Palace and Burnley are also looking at him which leads me to believe he wouldn’t be a first team pick if he does arrive at Ibrox.

Fiorentina Coach Has Eaten Some Sour Grapes

I had to laugh when I read this:

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli said Rangers did not deserve to reach the Uefa Cup final.

“We have to accept it,” he said after his side were knocked out on penalties. “It has been a beautiful night and it could have ended better for us.

“I have to thank my players, who kept on fighting until the last minute.

“A team that has renounced to play has won, football is like this. Football sometimes awards teams that don’t deserve it.”

A Vieri Good Result In Florence

Christian Vieri’s penalty miss left the weight of the world and every Rangers supporters dreams on Nacho Novo’s shoulders as he placed the ball on the penalty spot.

And as I watched him step up I just knew he wasn’t going to miss!!!

After watching 120 minutes of Rangers doing very little in the way of attacking, winning a penalty shootout looked like the only way they were going to make an appearance in Manchester.

When Barry missed my heart sank and I thought it was another European dream slipping away. That wasn’t to be, lady luck was with The Gers and its onward bound to the City of Manchester Stadium on May 14 for a meeting with Dick Advocaat’s Zenit.

Andrea Caracciolo Had No Intention Of Joining Rangers

I have to say that I wasn’t holding my breath when this story surfaced about Andrea Caracciolo being a possible last minute signing.

In fact I’m pretty happy he didn’t join Rangers and didn’t think he would. Sure it’s easy for me to say that now the window is closed but I have heard it all before.

A trip back in time to May 10, 2007, Is Andrea Caracciolo Signing? - he’d already been touted to Rangers by Amo’s agent. If he was coming it would have been last summer, if at all.

£7m saved. That amount of money could and hopefully will be better spent

Christian Dailly On His Way To Rangers

I’m not sure if this is a loan deal or an all out transfer but it’s being reported that Christian Dailly is coming to Rangers from West Ham.

I’m hoping this news is wrong but it doesn’t seem that way. I really don’t see what Christian Dailly can bring to the team.
